Ucyclyd Pharma® Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation. Medicis is a specialty pharmaceutical company with annual sales in excess of $300 million. The company’s other divisions are dermatology and aesthetics.
Ucyclyd Pharma was incorporated in January, 1995 in Maryland to distribute and market Buphenyl® powder and tablets. Medicis acquired Ucyclyd Pharma in April, 1999 from the founding partners of the company. Ucyclyd Pharma was relocated to the Medicis corporate offices in Scottsdale, AZ following its acquisition.
